In this lesson I’ll show you how to get links from doc sharing sites. Keep in mind, like many links, these do not pass on much link juice, but, the diversity is the key.
First, What Are Docs?
Docs are simply documents that range from simple Word Documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint slide shows or PDF files.
Doc sharing sites allow you to upload these types of files to their sites and share them with the world, as well as place a backlink to your site within the document.
Aside from providing you a backlink they can also rank in the search engines.
Here is an example:
What Should A Document You’re Sharing Contain?
Simple. You need text. This could be an article or a simple slideshow. You can also include graphics, charts or videos as well. However, the bulk of the presentation of doc should be text because that is what the search engines read.
Let me show you an example. This is one put together called How Can I Be An Expert.
Notice that it’s just a small presentation on how someone can effectively become an expert on a subject that they are not already an expert about.
This could have also been presented as a simple PDF or Word document as well., but, for this one I like the Power Point layout.
Creating A Doc Without Microsoft Word…
I get this question a lot.
You can create a Google Drive account, a Microsoft Skydrive account or get Open Office and any of them have all the tools to save your work as a Power Point, Word Doc or PDF file.
The 1st 4 are the ones I personally use the most. The reason? Because, your files have a good chance of ranking in the search engines by themselves on these particular sites over the others. The below list isn’t huge, and in fact, there are a lot more of these types of sites out there. However, these are the ones I use.
