This tutorial is about getting links from public profiles. These types of places include forums and various other public networks.
Why Do Public Profile Links Work?
- They are natural
- We join most of these anyway
- They are easy to use
- They are easy to find
I want to put out a couple of tips before I give you a demonstration of getting forum profile links.
- You do not need to use anchor text with these. Just use the raw URL or generic terms like “click here” if you decide to use anchor text.
- The majority of your back links should NOT be from these types of places. But, they still come in handy.
Like other link sources many profile links are no-follow. However, you want no-follow links anyway, so just get them and don’t worry about do and no-follow.
How Do You Find These Types Of Sites?
You can simply go to Google or Bing and do a search for your keywords+forums. The above image shows me doing this at Bing.
There are many results for this particular phrase.
When you see these results simply go into a few of the forums and signup.
Then make a profile. Every forum has a place that you can make a profile, you’ll just need to search for it.
Here is a profile I made at JLforums:
It has my signature with links and it took me a full 2 minutes to setup.
Also it has my naked links in the profile as well:
I added 2 websites on this one but all you need is 1.
Most profiles are similar and on some of them you’ll just have to find your way around. Again, they are all laid out differently and you simply need to find the profile area and fill it out.

Below are places that you can create public profiles at:
And of course, any public forum as I mentioned earlier can be used. Just find them searching Google or Bing. The bulk of these types of links will likely end up being forums for you but, the above list will help get you started.
Action: Select 6-7 of the sites above plus at least 3 more forums to add your profile to. If you use anchor text, use a different anchor text for each profile link you add.
