Press releases are a great way to get some attention for your website and also get a back-link.
Now, let me be clear here. Most websites will not get attention from just having a press release. However, you will be able to get back-link from press releases to your site.
What Should A Press Release Be About?
Anything that involves your website/market. You could announce that someone in your market released a new product via a press release and just state the news and specs of the products. That leads me right into my next point.
Press Releases Are News, Not Opinion Pieces
Press releases should not include your opinion. They should be fact or news-based. They can and should include a quote from you or your pen name but should lack opinion wherever possible.
You can see an example here: http://www.i-newswire.com/4k-tv-reviews-website-is-now-live/222193
Step 1: Create Your Press Release
Go ahead and create a press release. You can either do this yourself or you can use a place like Fiverr and have someone write one for you. In fact this search query will take you right to the section on press releases. Make sure your press release contains:
- 400-500 words minimum
- At least one quote
- No real opinions – only news
- Include one link without anchor text (naked link) in the press release
Step 2: Submit Your Press Release
There are several places to do this at. You can also skip this and just have Rank Crew do it (use the press release package). Rank Crew will do it very cheaply for you.
Doing it manually is easy enough. Many Press Release sites are similar, but, obviously I cannot go through them all and show you.
I selected I-Newswire.com to give you a demo.
It’s free (or paid, I just use the free version though).
First, create a free account at I-Newswire.com.
Then login and you’ll see a screen that looks like this.
A. Create a company profile and fill out all of the basic info they make you fill out.
B. Click next to move on.
A. Put in a title for your press release
B. Create a summary. This should be brief and imply explain what the body of your press release will be about.
C. Paste in the body of you press release here.
D. Click next and fill out the remaining basic information they ask you. I’m not going to go through all of this here, it’s really basic info.
That’s it. You’ve now submitted a press release!
Watch Me Discuss Press Release Sites Here
Here is a small list of free press release sites.
Action: Create at least 3 press releases about your website and release them to the world. Only release your individual press release on one site and do not submit the same press release to any other sites.
